Book Hauls

March 2018 Book Haul

So March was a good month for buying books. But not for getting through my TBR. It’s funny how those two things never align. I bought four books in March and two I won, ending up with six altogether.

The two books I won were Skysong and Wintersong (all the songs) in Jim @Yayeahyeah‘s Twitter giveaway. Thank you so much to Jim for sending me these two, I’m excited to pick them up!

My big purchases of the month were Children of Blood and Bone and City of Brass. I pre-ordered COBAB a few weeks before its release and was thrilled when it arrived a day early, whereas I bought City of Brass in Waterstones a week after it had come out, but was equally as pleased to have it in my possession. I’m thrilled with both books because they’ve been on my radar for a long time (I actually saw ARCs of City of Brass at YALC last year).

The two penguin classics – Kenko and The Suffragettes – were treats to myself, when they were 80p on Amazon. I read both during the Easter Readathon I hosted, but although I enjoyed them, I don’t think they were particularly exciting or groundbreaking. Children of Blood and Bone on the other hand is exciting to read; I’m currently half way through and lapping up every page.

Which books did you get in March? Did you win any giveaways or receive any proofs?

Until next time

  1. I got about 8 books in March? Oopsie. But at least by now I’ve read most of them! So my TBR and hauls did kind of match up? Who knew?? I hope you end up loving Children of Blood and Bone when you’re finished! I enjoyed it & City of Brass, but wasn’t obsessed/in love, you know? But they were both gorgeous. 🙂

    1. Niiiiice! What did you get? Omg that’s impressive that your TBR and haul matched, I WISH I’d read most of the books I got in March, but I’m the worst for buying faster than I can read. Whoops. I’m actually STILL reading Children of Blood and Bone, as for some reason I keep picking up other books rather than carry on with it. But as soon as I do read more of it, I remember how much I was enjoying it. What is wrong with me. 😛

      1. I got Obsidio, Ice Wolves & LifeL1k3, to name a few! Haha classic book distraction, I’m doing the same thing with Bands of Mourning. I know I’ll love it but I keep procrastinating reading for some reason? What’s wrong with us. 😛

        1. Oooh nice! All three seem to be pretty popular at the moment. 😀 Yeah, it’s weird procrastinating on a book that you’ve been enjoying isn’t it? I think with me it might be because I’ve been buying quite a few other books recently and wanting to get to them asap, so I’ve let COBAB slide. Sometimes thought I don’t want the book to end, so I procrastinate to try and lengthen my time reading it. 😛

  2. I had a copy of Good Omens but my tbr is suffering as I can’t stop reading ARCs. I love the look of Sky Song and Winter Song I am trying to decide whether to take a look at them or avoid looking at new books until my tbr shrinks

  3. I love reading book hauls and seeing what everyone got! I went to a library sale and there were 3 books for a dollar, so I had to pick up a few! 😂

    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Wonderful haul – these books look amazing! Also, I am so very happy to hear you’re enjoying COBAB, I can’t wait to read it 😀 City of Brass looks stunning as well ❤

  5. I got Children of Blood and Bone in April for my birthday and I’m SO excited to read it, because it’s one of my most anticipated releases 😍 I also got Wintersong earlier this year!
