Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s theme is:
October 20: Books I Read Because Someone Recommended Them to Me
I’ve actually already got a post in draft about books I’ve read because friends recommended them, so for this post I’m going to be sharing books I want to read because friends have rec’d them.
City of Brass

This series is complete now and I have all three books in hardback, so I have no excuse not to read the first book, especially because it’s been recommended to me by Hollie so many times.
Jade City

This sounds fantastic and right up my street. It’s been recommended to me so many times by lost of bloggers, including Shealea and Kate, so I definitely want to get to it soon.
Spoiler Alert

Spoiler Alert is a recent release and after hearing Kirsty talk about how good it is, I definitely want to pick it up.
40-Love

This is another Olivia Dade book that I’m excited to read, but this one was recommended to me by Amy and after reading her review I’m definitely going to get myself a copy.
Felix Ever After

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this for my birthday and my lovely friend Charvi keeps reminding me that I need to read it ASAP.
Cemetery Boys

I’ve been excited for Cemetery Boys for months and I’m hoping to read it this month after Alison read it and loved it.
Black Sun

I just stared this on audiobook today after being recommended it by Aentee and Nandini and I’m HOOKED. The first few chapters drew me in immediately and I ended up blazing through 11 chapters in one go.
The Dragon Republic

I loved The Poppy War when I read it and Tiffany has championed this book so brilliantly that I know I need to pick it up soon.
Beartown

Jaz recommended this to me ages ago and my library finally has the audiobook in so I’m hoping to get to it soon.
Rebecca

My work pal Becky keeps recommending I read Rebecca because she really enjoyed it so we’ve made a pact: if she reads Addie LaRue, I’ll read Rebecca.
Which books have you been recommended by friends? Have you read any of these?
I cannot wait to read Spoiler Alert and Jade City!
Great list! I really need to read Jade City, too; I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. The Daevabad Trilogy is wonderful, I highly recommend it, and Rebecca is brilliant. I hope you enjoy them!
Yes! City of Brass! People keep recommending it to me and I’m waiting for a perfect time to read three of the books!
i see 2 book covers with fat rep and i’m loving what i see (i’m going to look them up!) also YESSS Cemetery Boys! DM me when you start it please ❤
Oooh I see so many amazing books on this list 😍
I swear I’m like an annoying ghost who’s gonna haunt you to read Felix 😂
Please continue haunting me over Felix, I NEED TO GET TO IT 😀
HEHE OKAY 😁
Mmmm, superb choices! I can definitely and strongly recommend Spoiler Alert — it’s one of my favorite romances of the year, and possibly my very MOST favorite. It’s funny and heartbreaking and just absolutely great.
Ahh that’s great to hear about Spoiler Alert! I’m excited to get to it 😀
I loved City of Brass! Hoping to reread it soon then get straight into the second two 😀
I’ve never seen a bad review for City of Brass, so I have high hopes! 😀
Beartown is a treasure of a book. It’s one of my favourites and it will rip your heart into tiny shreds. It’s such a brilliant insight into the dynamics of a declining sporting community.
Jade City has my fantasy heart. It’s such a dynamic and engaging story with incredible family dynamics.
I’m wayyyy overdue for reading Jade City, especially because it sounds like something I’d really enjoy! I’ll have to try and check the audio for Beartown out of my library in the coming months!
Yes 40-Love! I’m so excited for you to read them, and there are some fab choices on here too.
I thought you might be please 😉 Aww thanks my lovely!
