Top Ten Tuesday // Questions I’d ask my favourite authors

Please continue supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and demand justice for Jacob Blake. The Black Lives Matter cardd is constantly being updated with new information, petitions, and resources.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weeks theme is:

August 25: Questions I Would Ask My Favourite Authors

This one is pretty straight forward, so I’m going to pick one question each for 10 of my favourite authors.

Victoria and Akemi I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting a few times and asking them questions about their books and writing, so for their answers I’ve tried to think of questions I haven’t yet asked them.

My question for Victoria Schwab would be:

Can you tell us more about the TV script you’re currently working on? 👀

My question JY Neon Yang is:

How did you come up with the world-building in The Black Tides of Heaven?

I’d want to ask Akemi Dawn Bowman:

How was your experience of writing The Infinity Courts different to your other novels so far, since they’re contemporaries and this is an SFF novel?

I’d ask Kat Cho:

I’m almost finished Vicious Spirits and I need MORE of these characters and this world, please tell me there’s going to be a third book in the series?

My question for Angie Thomas would be:

What was it like seeing your debut novel take off so quickly?

To Nghi Vo, I’d want to ask:

Where did the inspiration come from for the plot and characters in The Empress of Salt and Fortune? (Also you made me cry reading it, so thank you.)

I’d ask Sabaa Tahir:

What are you currently working on now that the Ember series is drawing to a close later this year?

To Leigh Bardugo, I’d ask:

Are there going to be a lot of resolutions for the main characters in Rule of Wolves? (I’m scared.)

I would want to ask Talia Hibbert:

Will Act Your Age, Eve Brown have even more of an enemies-to-lovers vibe than Chloe Brown?

And finally, I’d ask Kristen Ciccarelli:

What are you working on now that the Iskari series is complete?

What would you ask your favourite authors if you could meet them or chat to them online?
