Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week, TTT turns 10, happy birthday Top Ten Tuesday!
The theme is to either pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it, or pick a past TTT topic you wish you’d done, but didn’t get a chance to do.
For this week’s post, I’ve decided to share my top ten YA covers of 2020. Of course, this isn’t an objective list, these are just my personal favourites.
Star Daughter

This cover is just flawless. The colours, the artwork, the typography. Everything comes together perfectly to create one stunning, beautiful cover.
The Sound of Stars

I don’t think I’ll ever be over this cover. LOOK AT IT. The blend of pink, purple, and blue (the bi flag colours?!) played out in the clouds and over water with the skyscrapers is in the background? Sublime.
Felix Ever After

My love for this cover knows no bounds. Felix looks confident and glorious in his flower crown, surrounded by other flowers and warm colours. It’s so wonderful.
A Song of Wraiths and Ruin

The POWER this cover holds. The first time I saw it, it took my each away (I’m not kidding) and it continued to do so every time I look at it anew.
Mad, Bad & Dangerous to Know

I can’t get enough of the contrasting colours on this cover. The orange and yellow set against the purple and blue? INSPIRED.
I also love that both the main characters are standing back to back because it feels like they’re standing in solidarity with each other, ready to come to each other’s aid (despite living 200 years apart).
Loveboat, Taipei

This released in January, but I still think about the gorgeous cover and matching pale blue sprayed edges at least once a week.
Iron Heart

If this cover could stop coming for my heart, that would be great. The first book, Crier’s War, already took it so I don’t have much left to give.
Forest of Souls

I’m starting to think I have a type when it comes to covers? And that type is beautiful, enigmatic women on the cover. Can you blame me though???
Unchosen

The miasma of colours in this cover create an almost ghostly effect and I low-key love it.
Woven in Moonlight

I’m a huge fan of this cover and its Fairyloot twin. The illustrations are beautiful and I love the different creatures set against a night backdrop.
Which 2020 covers are you a fan of? Have you read any of these books?

Great list! Love how you described all the covers! Also want to read felix ever after and a song of wraiths and ruin.
Ooh the cover of Mad, Bad and Dangerous to know is so pretty. Great list!
Ugh, all of these are so gorgeous! *-* I especially love the Woven in Moonlight one and adore the cover for Written in Stars almost more 🙂
Iron Heart must be SO shiny in person!! I LOVE it 😍✨
Woven In Midnight speaks to me on all levels and not just because of my night owl tendencies haha. I adore the cover for Star Daughter and Forest of Souls too. They’re so striking.
You’ve included so many lovely covers in this post!
