Schwab Readalong Announcement + Giveaways

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen that I’ve been dropping hints for a while about a ~secret project~ that I’ve been working on.

Today, I’m excited to FINALLY be able to announce it.

Starting in July, I’m going to be co-hosting a VICTORIA SCHWAB READALONG with Alison over at AntariReads.

Most of you will know that I’m a HUGE Victoria Schwab fan and this readalong is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, so I’m thrilled to be able to share it with you all.

I hope you’ll read on for more information and consider joining us!

General information

Schwab Readalong will begin on July 1st and will run until the end of October. We’ll be reading one of Victoria’s books each month on the run up to the release of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

Each month we’ll be hosting reading sprints on Twitter, and there will be set chapters to read each week if you wish. (Or you can read the book at your own pace, it’s entirely up to you!)

We’ll be sharing all the updates on the Schwab Readalong Twitter account and will be using the hashtag #SchwabReadalong too.

If you want to take part in the readalong, you’re more than welcome to join in as much or as little as you like. You can do one, two, three, or all four months, it’s entirely up to you.

July’s book will be The Archived and we’ll be reading several chapters each week, detailed in the graphic below.

Alison and I will be co-hosting a liveshow at the end of the month to discuss the book we’ve been reading (July’s date is TBC).

If you want to read the sequel to The Archived as well, then you’re more than welcome to pick up The Unbound as an optional extra book.

Or if you’re reading The Dark Vault then feel free to read the whole novel, since that encompasses The Archived and The Unbound.

In August, we’ll be reading A Darker Shade of Magic. There will be weekly chapters and a liveshow at the end of the month to chat about the book.

For those of you who want to go hard and read (or reread) the whole trilogy, the optional extra books are A Gathering of Shadows and A Conjuring of Light.

September’s book will be Vicious and again, there will be weekly chapters and reading sprints, plus another liveshow at the end of the month.

The optional extra book is, of course, Vengeful. *thinks about Marcella*

For the final book of the readalong, there could only be one choice.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

We’ll be starting the book once it releases, but since we know that not everyone will get their copy at the same time, the weekly chapters will be pretty relaxed.

After we’ve finished the book, we’ll be hosting one final liveshow to discuss Addie and round up the readalong.

There will be not one, but TWO GIVEAWAYS as part of the readalong.

The first is being very kindly sponsored by @TitanBooks and this giveaway is for a bundle of Victoria’s UK books.

As Titan are Victoria’s UK publisher, this giveaway has to be UK and ROI only.

BUT. Because Alison and I didn’t want anyone to miss out, we’ll be hosting a SECOND giveaway, which will be international (as long as Book Depository ships to you).

This giveaway is for a pre-order of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.

We’ll be announcing more details on how to enter both giveaways on the Schwab Readalong Twitter account when the readalong begins on 1st July.

You can also see my full video announcement about the readalong here:

Alison and I are really excited about this readalong and we hope you’ll consider joining us!

We would absolutely love to see any blog posts, vlogs, Instagram, or Twitter posts that you tag us in, so feel free to share them!

Which are your favourite V.E. Schwab books? Are you thinking of taking part in Schwab Readalong? Which books would you want to read?

  1. I’m so excited for this readalong! I can’t wait to read all my Schwab books. I’ve only read This Savage Song (which I loved), City of Ghosts & Tunnel of Bones (also loved) and The Near Witch (didn’t love) so I’m hoping to read everything else before Addie LaRue comes out
