Easter Readathon took place last weekend, and I had such a fun time hosting it once again.
This year, it felt like more people than ever took part (perhaps not a surprise considering the current global situation) and I loved all the enthusiasm and engagement.
If you took part in any way, shape, or form, I want to say a massive thank you. All your photos, Tweets, Instagram posts, and blog posts really made my weekend.
So I guess what you might be wondering what I read during the weekend? Well, let me share all.
My aim for the readathon was to read four books that would cover the five prompts. If you want to check out my TBR, you can find it here.
I ended up deviating slightly from my TBR over the weekend, but I read five books, and completed all of the challenges.
Prompts completed: Read a book under 250 pages and read a book about family/friends.
Rating: 4 stars
This was my first book of the weekend and because it’s a short one I read it in about 1.5 hours.
It was another great volume in the series, with a lot of loyalties tested. I loved seeing both Captain Marvel and Iron Man show up and I also enjoyed Kamala’s trip to visit her family in Pakistan.

This graphic novel stole my heart. And I’d like it back.
I don’t know why I waited so long to read it, but it was definitely worth the hype. The illustrations were brilliantly drawn and Nimona as a character made me laugh so many times. I loved the plot and the way Noelle Stephenson played with the the fairy tale archetypes. I called the romance from the first chapter, but I’m so glad I was right.

I’m so glad I finally read this, it’s been on my TBR for AGES.
I loved the slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance in this story and really enjoyed seeing Rachel and Sana grow closer. If you want some good angsty scenes mixed in with soft romance and film drama, then this is definitely your jam.
The one thing I didn’t like about the novel as much was that a lot of it revolved around miscommunication. I also feel like there were more realistic ways Sana and Rachel could have started talking to each other again. I wanted a little more plot and more of a wow factor from this book, but I enjoyed the story overall.

This wasn’t actually on my TBR for the weekend, but it arrived in the post and I couldn’t resist.
It’s a really cute, F/F Rapunzel retelling and the art style is gorgeous. There are some really positive, uplifting messages about gender roles, dream jobs, and self-belief. I only wish it had been longer so we could have had more plot and character development.

I didn’t intend this to read this over Easter weekend, but when I realised I only had two days left before the loan would automatically return to my library, I dived into it.
This is a full cast dramatisation, so there are about 10-15 voice actors in every episode and everyone really got their characters spot on. The one thing I’d say is that there’s little overt narration in this, so if you haven’t read the book of watched the show yet, I wouldn’t recommend this because it could be confusing. I’d recommend reading or watching one of them first.
I also started Queen of Coin and Whispers, but I only got a few chapters in before the end of the readathon, so I’m not counting it as completed.
Hopefully I’ll carry on with this one and finish it in the next few weeks.
Thankfully I completed all the prompts, despite not reading every book on my original TBR.

Aww thank you! Yeah, they were all very different, but it kept my weekend interesting. I’m only a few chapters in, but Queen of Coin and Whispers seems great so far!
