Top Ten Tuesday // My fantasy-heavy Fall TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s theme:

September 24: Books On My Fall 2019 TBR

Oh man. I could fill an entire notebook with all the books I want to read this season. But I guess I’ll settle for sharing the ten I’m most excited for and most likely to pick up.

41951626. sy475 Crier’s War

I know that I’m definitely going to read this book because… I’ve started it already.

Y’girl was lucky enough to trade for an ARC of this and I picked it up a few days ago. And guys. It’s good. I’m 100 pages in and it pretty much has me by the throat.

It’s a YA sci-fi set in a world where automae rule over humans, and has an f/f romance. I’m here for it.

Gideon the Ninth

This book sound so weird and wonderful. It’s about necromancy, and guess what? Also f/f.

The hardback is literally sitting in my room, calling for me.

Into the Crooked Place

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this at YALC and I’m mildly contemplating punching myself in the face for not having started it yet.

I also pre-ordered the Illumicrate special edition because, what can I say, I’m a slut for those sprayed edges.

The Black Hawks

A few weeks ago, I was crying to Hollie about how great this book sounds and how much I want to read an early copy.

And I don’t know if Harper Voyager were listening in on our conversation or something, but literally the next day a link to download it from Netgalley arrived in my inbox.

I screamed. (Hollie can confirm.)

Ninth House

I love Leigh Bardugo with my entire soul so I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time.

And I somehow managed to trade for an ARC of it???

So if I can get my butt in gear, I’ll be reading and reviewing it before it releases.

40024139

Serpent & Dove

I tried so many times to request a review copy of this from Harper360 (I’ve lost count), but alas it wasn’t to be. (They ignored me *cries*)

But then it arrived on Scribd over the weekend and I started listening to it and lived happily ever after.

40580686

War Girls

*whispers* I’m going to be on the blog tour for this and it’s going to be amazing.

This is about two sisters who are driven apart by war and it’s inspired by Black Panther. *heart eyes*

41951611

Angel Mage

Oh look, a new novel by one of the most celebrated writers in fantasy?

A novel about angels and magic and survival? Yes please, I’ll take ten.

44034303. sy475

Wayward Son

I don’t know what to say to y’all other than that I’m Baz trash and I’ve pre-ordered the Waterstones special edition with the flowery sprayed edges.

Follow me on Instagram to watch me lose my actual sh** when it arrives.

(Yes that was a casual plug, no I don’t regret it, link is in the sidebar.)

34510711. sy475

Infinity Son

I was blessed enough to be able to get an ARC of this at YALC, so you bet your butt, I’m going to try and read it as soon as I can.

It’s Adam Silvera writing queer fantasy. Get in my eyes.

What are you reading in autumn/fall?

Until next time,KateNEW

  1. I just finished Into The Crooked Place (my friend lent me her ARC of it that she won at YALC) and it was so good, I hope you enjoy it too. I’m also so excited to read Ninth House, and I got an ARC of Infinity Son from Netgalley, which will be my first Adam Silvera book, so I’m excited to try it.

  2. Okay, the cover for Gideon the Ninth looks fierce and slightly haunting. Into the Crooked Kingdom is one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I’m so excited to see how dark and twisted this book is. I’m also kicking myself for not knowing a damn think about The Black Hawks until now, so I will immediately add this to mt tbr list.
