Yes, friends, I can’t believe it either. I’ve been nominated four UKYABAs and I am actually deceased.
The UKYABAs, or UK Young Adult Book Awards, are annual YA blogging awards, where you can nominate/vote for UK bloggers who deserve recognition for their content and work in the book community.
These are the categories for nominations:
Champion of Diversity
Most Inspirational
Best Newcomer
Best Established
Publishers’ Choice
Best Blog Post
Author Interaction
I’ve been nominated in four (!!!) categories: Best Established, Most Inspirational, Champion of Diversity, and Publishers’ Choice award.
If I’m being honest, I was shocked when I found out. I still kind of am. I was at work, and I pretty much teared up from happiness and then had to go calm myself down in the toilets.
Nominations come from other bloggers and publishing professionals, which means that other people actually took time out of their day to nominate me. They thought my blog was worth putting forward. I can’t even tell you how much that means to me.
It also astounds me a little bit. I love blogging and I get so much enjoyment out of it, but I didn’t think that other people might get the same enjoyment from my blog – and want to nominate me for it.
If you nominated me for any of the categories I’m longlisted in, thank you so much. I can’t tell you how much it means to me (literally everything). It was the best feeling to see my name on the list of nominees.
The closest feeling I can equate it to is this: imagine someone has brought you your favourite food, favourite book, and a puppy all at the same time, while telling you that they’ve booked you a holiday and got you tickets to meet your favourite author. Well, it was a bit like that.
Thank you again to everyone who nominated me. It’s so kind of you to have thought of me and I don’t deserve you. ❤
If you’d like to vote for me for the shortlists, you can do so here. Voting for Best Established closes today (11th April) at 4pm.
I can’t really describe how overjoyed I’d be if I was shortlisted, so here’s a gif of what I’d probably look like instead.
Voting for Most Inspirational and Champion of Diversity will open soon so keep an eye out.
There are some incredible bloggers nominated so please give them your support!
