Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s theme is:
March 19: Books On My Spring 2019 TBR
I found it hard to narrow it down to ten books for this post, because there are so many great spring releases coming out, so I’ve chosen the books I’m hoping to read in the next six weeks (hahaha, help me).
A dark paranormal mystery? A Chinese-inspired fantasy? A space adventure? A fantasy with a sealed off city? I’m here for all of these. The only problem is going to be deciding which to read first.
Honestly, I screamed when I got accepted for Red White & Royal Blue on Netgalley. It sounds like the queer royal romance we’ve all been waiting for. Wicked Saints is one of my most highly anticipated reads for 2019, so I’m very excited to pick it up in the next month or two. I’m a huge fan of Akemi Dawn Bowman’s writing (please read Starfish, it’s so good) and I’m currently reading and loving SBB.
I also need to read these ARCs before they’re released so it’s going to be a busy spring for me. I’m particularly excited for The Princess and the Fangirl, as it has F/F rep and is all about fandom. So it’s just my kind of thing.
What’s on your spring TBR? Have you read any of these books or are you planning to read them?
Great list! The Princess and the Fangirl sounds like one I’ll have to check out and I’m very intrigued by the cover of We Are Blood and Thunder. I keep seeing such good things about The Devouring Gray that I’m sure I’ll end up picking it up, too. I hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks Jess! I’m reading The Princess and the Fangirl right now and it’s such a fun book. It’s set at a convention and I can relate a lot to one of the main characters, Imogen, who loves cons. I’d definitely recommend it so far!
So many good books! I just finished Aurora Rising last night. Loved it!
Ahhh that’s great to hear that you enjoyed it! It sounds like a fun read, so hopefully I’ll get to it next month 🙂
I also addded The Princess and the Fangirl to my list; I was so excited when I found out about it earleir this year. Same thing about Red, White and Royal Blue; I think I saw it on Goodreads and it sounds like such a cute and fun romance. Conrgats on getting it on Netalley, it must have felt so awesome! I hope you can read it soon and you love it as much as you want 😉
I am very intrigued by Aurora Rising but I kinda want to read the Illuminae Files first.
You got a very varied list on here and wow, you also plan on reading them all in 6 weeks? Ggood luck deciding what to read first, there are so many great options.
I’m actually reading The Princess and the Fangirl now and it’s REALLY good! Aww thanks Anna, yeah I was thrilled when I got accepted for an ARC on Netgalley! I have a feeling it’s going to be fab.
Haha yes, I’m going to try and read all the ARCs before they come out so I can review them. It’s a bit of a big task but fingers crossed I’ll have time to get to them all 🙂
Awww, I’m so happy you’re enjoying it so much. To be honest,it sounds like something you’d like so it’s great. And congrats again! I imagine being accepted for ARCs, especially ones you want to read, must be amazing, and this author is quite popular so you getting the ARC says a lot about you and your blog.
Good luck with reviewing 🙂
Aww thanks Anna! Yeah, I’m always grateful for every ARC I receive, because I know it’s a big privilege and a lot of international readers aren’t able to get them due to publishing rights and shipping costs. I’m trying to make more of an effort to review all the ARCs I get this year, as I got quite behind on them last year. Thanks Anna 🙂
I get that sometimes it’s difficult to keep up so I’m sending you a lot of positive vibes and energy so you can do your best. I’m excited to see which titles you have in store for us 🙂
Aww thank you, that’s really nice of you to be so understanding ❤ Hehe, well I've been drafting a few reviews over the last few days, so hopefully there'll be some for books you're interested in!
Some of these are on my TBR too! 😊 Lovely post!

Ah that’s exciting! Thanks Shirley 🙂
I got an ARC of Descendant of the Crane and really enjoyed it, hope you do too! Princess and the Fangirl is definitely highly anticipated!
Ahhh I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it! I’m going to start both of these asap 😊
Princess and the fangirl looks so good! I hope you love it! I’m also looking forward to King of Fools.
Ah thanks Lili! I feel like I’m really going to enjoy it because I love conventions, so a book about cons is right up my street. 🙂 Yeah, King of Fools should be good, I need more Levi in my life!
oh what a great TBR, Kate! I also have The Devouring Gray on my immediate TBR and hope to get to it in the next couple of weeks, I can’t wait! and SO exciting about Red, White and Royal Blue, I’ve heard so many great things about this one, can’t wait to read it 🙂
Happy reading! 🙂
Thanks Marie! I’m hoping to read The Princess and the Fangirl as soon as I’ve finished Summer Bird Blue, and then The Devouring Gray after that. 🙂 Yeah RWRB sounds like a really fun read, I think I’m going to love it 😀 Hope you’re having a lovely week!
I agree, it was super hard to narrow it down to ten, so I didn’t even bother trying 😀 Looking forward to Descendant of the Crane!
Haha yeah, I enjoyed all the choices in your post! I’m really hopeful that DOTC will be good!
Your TBR list looks divine!!! Aurora Rising is top of my tbr list, but I also can’t wait for Descendant of the Crane. Wicked Saints looks dark and twisted, basically everything I love in books haha. Good luck with the list. 😀
Ah thanks Lois! I’m excited to try Aurora Rising, although I’ve heard a couple of people say the writing style is surprisingly cringey, so I’ll be going into it cautiously. I’m hoping to start Descendant of the Crane asap, as I want to read and review it before it comes out on 9th! Thank you ❤
