Top Ten Tuesday: YA fantasy and historical fiction books on my winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s theme is:

December 18: Winter 2018 TBR

I had to narrow this down somehow, because my winter TBR is an unwieldy beast that involves far more than 10 books. But a lot of the books I want to read in the coming months are YA fantasy, YA historical fiction, or a combination of the two, so I decided to pick my 10 books from those genres.

Two fantasy novels with Asian main characters and two full of action? Yes please. Sign me the heck up. I’ve had ARCs of The Girl King and Girls of Paper and Fire since YALC, so I’m very keen to get to them during winter, and I’ve been waiting for King of Scars for months (years? decades?) so I’m incredibly excited to finally be able to read it once it’s released in January. Courting Darkness is another that’s been on my radar for a while, and I was lucky enough to be accepted for a Netgalley ARC, so it’ll be great to finally read it during winter.

Priory and Ruin of Kings involve dragons and I’d by lying if I said I wasn’t 400% excited to get started on them. (I need more dragon books in my life.) Wicked Saints sounds pretty darn excellent too and it comes out in April, so I want to read it well before the release to give myself plenty of time to savour it and write my review.

The lovely people at Andersen Press and MKD sent me ARCs of Monsters and Enchantee (respectively), so I’m hoping to read those during winter, as both release in February 2019. The wonderful Beth @TheReader’sCorner was kind enough to send me her ARC of The Lady’s Guide, which was one of my more anticipated reads of 2018, so I want to read that ASAP.

Which books are on your winter TBR? Have you read any of these (or do you plan to)?

Until next time,KateNEW
