Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s theme is:
December 11: Freebie
Since this week was a freebie, I decided to take a look back at some of my favourite YA book covers of 2018. These are just my opinion, and there are plenty of others I could have included, but these ten really stand out for me as being aesthetically god-like.
These were a mixture of UK and US covers because I often find one really trumps the other. (Do you agree or is this just me?) You can probably guess the type of book covers I like just by looking at them. Bold or contrasting colours, intricate patterns, and foil embellishments are some of my favourite things to find on a book cover, and all of these have at least one of those.
What are some of your favourite covers from 2018 releases? Do you agree/disagree with any of the book covers on this list?
These are so pretty! I know what you mean in regards to US vs. UK covers – usually one of them is a lot nicer than the other, and I’m always jealous when US readers have prettier covers. I love the cover of Muse of Nightmares, the book looks gorgeous with the sprayed edges, and the cover of Tyler Johnson Was Here is lovely, too.
Great choices! I’m such a huge fan of the Girls of Paper and Fire cover, it looks absolutely STUNNING, I’m in love haha 🙂
Love this post. I’m terrible for judging books by their covers and Spinning Silver is an absolute beauty. Not gonna lie, a lot of the times I wait until I’ve seen the cover of both the UK and US edition before deciding which one to buy haha.
These are all so pretty! I’ve always preferred the UK covers for Naomi Novik’s books!
Suchhhh pretty covers!!!
