October is the month of autumn leaves, cosy scarves, and me furiously lamenting the end of summer. I know some people theme their reading around Halloween and pick up spooky books, but I don’t usually do this because I don’t read much horror. I also wouldn’t want to read only one genre for the full month, but this in no way suggests that theming your reading around spooky reads isn’t a good idea (I actually really admire people who do it), it’s just not something I normally do.
Instead I’m picking up some books that have just been released, and some ARCs that are coming out soon. Oh, and Fence, because I’ve been dying to read it for ages, but was waiting for the volume to release. These are my October picks:
Since we’re already 12 days into October, I’ve already finished Vengeful and I can confirm that IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I was stunned by how phenomenal it was and I’m already contemplating reading it again. Even though I have all these other books to read.

I haven’t read any of these but I’m currently 50% into Vicious and I absolutely enjoy it. I can’t wait to continue with Vengeful. Good luck with your TBR! 🙂

I just finished book one and I think I’m going to wait until Scribd or my local library have the ebook of vengeful. Because on Scribd there is only the audiobook but it always takes me forever to read when I listen to a book. So it depends on my patience but I know myself 😂 which means that I won’t be able to wait and that I will pick up the audiobook by next week 😅
Hahaha I was totally impatient too and started Vengeful as soon as it arrived! Thankfully I’d just finished my current read so it was good timing. I’d definitely recommend going into Vengeful fresh from Vicious though, as the two flow together very smoothly (and also Vengeful is just amazing and I can’t rec it enough). I found Girl in the Broken Mirror a bit hard, it’s a difficult subject. But also an excellent book.
