I was tagged to do this by Beth @ReadingEveryNight and I’d never heard of the tag until I read her post, so I was pretty intrigued.

Top Five Book Characters You’d Replace So You Could Live their Adventures
(Spoilers below for these books!)
1. Imogen from Invictus // I would looove to replace Imogen as a time traveller on Invictus. She’s constantly upbeat and positive, but can also be the voice of reason when needed. She befriends animals and dyes her hair using hair chalks. What’s not to love about her life?
2. Lazlo from Strange the Dreamer // Swapping places with Lazlo would be perfect, as I’d get to spend time in a huge library and then discover I had incredible powers and use them to save everyone, which is honestly one of my favourite character tropes. Lazlo is also an underdog, but has moments where he gets to prove himself to everyone and I’m a sucker for an underdog triumphing.
3. Lila from A Darker Shade of Magic // Ah, what I wouldn’t give to swap places with my Queen Delilah Bard. She’s resourceful, intelligent, and has a sharp sense of humour. She’s a pirate, magician, and traveller, and has one of the best clothing styles around. One I’d got over my constant urge to pick-pocket people, I think I’d enjoy living in her shoes.
4. Celia from The Night Circus // Celia has pretty incredible powers, but she has a tough time taking part in her father’s ongoing magical duel. But she lives in the mesmerising world of the circus, and that’s the real draw for me. Being surrounded by so many mystical and enigmatic people and getting to perform every night would be amazing.
5. Inej from Six of Crows // Although no-one can replace Inej, I’d love to give it a go. I’d get to be a knife-wielding acrobatic, who could sneak up on anyone and would get to be best buds with Nina. I’d happily spend the rest of my life with Kaz and the dregs. No arguments here.
Those are my five picks for this tag. I wonder if there could be a theme going on here… Oh yes that’s right. It’s magic. I love books with magic and basically want to drop myself into any world where magic exists. Aside from Invictus, which is a sci-fi novel, all of these books are fantasy and have that spark of enchantment that always draws me in.

Thank you so much for the mention 🙂 great choices, thanks for participating!!
Thanks for creating it! It was really fun to do! 🙂
❤ ❤
OH this is such a fun tag, I love it 🙂 I’d love to get in Lila’s shoes but just for one day. I’d be way too stressed out to live in her shoes than that hahahaha 🙂
Feel free to do it if you’d like to, I’d love to see your answers! I think I would live in Lila’s shoes as long as she’s in Red London – that’s my favourite London so I’d be pretty happy there. 😉
OH yay – I love Red London too, SO much 😀
Oh you picked some amazing characters for this tag and the topic Kate. I would LOVE to replace Celia in The Night Circus, just being able to be surrounding by the circus day and night would be a dream come true, but Imogen from Invictus would be a close second because honestly being able to time travel would be incredible. I’m a massive history fan which is why I love time travel books in general TBH.
Great post. 🙂 ❤
Haha thanks Beth! I feel bad for Celia because her father forces her into the duel, but she does get to meet Marco because of it and her powers are so interesting, that I still think I’d like to try living her life. I chose Imogen because, aside from the time travelling and red panda, I think we’re quite similar in personalities – she loves colour and animals and is upbeat. I think I have quite a few of those traits too, so maybe I could just sneak onto the ship and no-one would even notice (for a while) that I’d replaced her. 😛
I think I’d take the bad parts of her life for the good parts. Honestly I feel like just the circus itself could make up for everything else.
Well Imogen is a great character to identify with, for me it would mainly be the time travel thing. I’d just love to have that ability. 🙂
I’d definitely swap places with Lazlo and Celia! The world building in these books is just incredible and magical!
Yess, I completely agree! It would be amazing to live in both worlds, and see the magic and power they each hold. 🙂
Lovely tag! Both Lila and Inej are amazing, I would love to meet (or be them for a day) them, haha.
