I’m setting myself a pretty ambitious TBR for August, as I’m going away on a mini-break for a few days with my boyfriend and his family. We have a 4-5 hour drive to our destination so I’m hoping to be a human audiobook during the trip. These are the books I want to read:
This month’s TBR includes ARCs of The Girl King and Girls of Paper and Fire, both of which I was lucky enough to pick up during YALC, and an ARC of What If It’s Us, which I’m thrilled to have been sent an early e-copy of. So, I’m inadvertently taking part in ARC August by reading these.
I’m also re-reading of A Darker Shade of Magic, for the A Darker Shade of Readalongs August book. The aim of ADSOReadalongs is for everyone taking part to read the first book in the ADSOM trilogy before the August liveshow on 25th, and since I’ve been wanting to re-read it all year, it seems like the perfect opportunity. This makes August even more exciting for me because this will be the first time I’ve re-read the series, since I first read it three (or four?) years ago.
I’m also hoping to finish The Poppy War and The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet this month, but we’ll see how I get on. I may have to drop one book from the TBR in favour of finishing these two.

Thanks so much Marie, I ended up having a great time! I’ve not started Girl of Paper and Fire yet, but there’s still more than a week left of this month! I’m deliberating over whether to move it to next month’s TBR though, since it doesn’t come out until November and I have other ARCs to read that come out next month!

Thanks Cora! I still haven’t made any more progress with The Poppy War actually, but that’s not because I’m not enjoying it, and more because I was reading other books for YALC and then I’ve been reading ARCs since I got back. But I’m determined to finish it in the next few weeks! 🙂
