YALCathon TBR // Getting through those YALC ARCs

As usual, YALC was an incredibly exciting and fun weekend and, unsurprisingly, I came home with A LOT of books. (My suitcase was a beast.) I’ll have a full YALC wrap up going up on my blog next week, but in the mean time, I’ve decided to co-host a readathon to give people the chance to get through some of the books they picked up.

The readathon will run from Friday 3rd August at 5pm GMT until Sunday 5th August at 11.59pm and we’ll be using the hashtag #YALCathon on Twitter. I’ll be co-hosting with the wonderful Hollie @Hollieblog, and we’ll be running reading sprints throughout the weekend to power through those pages.

Anyone is welcome to take part; even if you didn’t attend YALC we’d still love to have you. The aim is simply to pick up books you’ve bought recently and want to get through.  My TBR for the weekend is:

  • A Thousand Beginnings and Endings by Ellen Oh and Elsie Chapman
  • Damsel by Elana K. Arnold
  • The Last Children of Tokyo by Yoko Tawada

If you’re taking part in ARC August or Booktube-A-Thon then feel free to double up and read those books for this readathon. We’d love to read with you either way.

Want to join the readathon? Head on over to the #YALCathon hashtag on Twitter and let us know what you’ll be reading.

Until next time

  1. This is such a fun readathon, Kate, I hope you’ll have tons of fun! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on A Thousand Beginnings and Endings especially, I’ve heard amazing things about it 🙂
    Happy reading! 🙂

  2. Now I wish I didn’t disappear from bloghopping world for the past two months, haha. I could’ve definitely used this readathon as well! I’ve been focusing on other books, but I really need to get a move on the ARC’s I was able to pick up at YALC. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to do so in the next couple of weeks.

    1. Aww, great to see you back though! Have you been busy over the last few months? Haha yes, the readathon was good for starting a few new ARCs, but I still didn’t read as much as I would have liked. Never mind though, I’m making my way through some more ARCs now. Which ones are you hoping to read? 😊

      1. Busy is an understatement. Life was simply hectic in general with everything changing, haha. Buying a house and being pregnant at the same time is definitely NOT something I’d recommend!
I’ve heard great things on Sawkill Girls and Girls of Paper and Fire so I’d love to get to those asap. 🙂

        1. Oh wow, congratulations on the new house and future arrival! That DOES sound like a busy few months! I know Sawkill Girls is up on Netgalley at the moment, and you could always try requesting a copy of Girls of Paper and Fire if you want to read them early 🙂
