TBRs and Wrap ups

July 2018 TBR // The month where I panic-read for YALC

It’s finally July, which means YALC is in less than four weeks! (Take a shot of tea every time I mention YALC in this post. Please caffeinate responsibly.) I’m getting really excited for a full weekend of book signings, panels, and hanging out with friends, but I’ve got to finish a few books on my TBR first so I can get them signed.

I’m also participating in the Tome Topple readathon this month (one week left until it ends) so I’m trying to read some 500+ page books for that, as well as my UKYA books. These are the books I want to read in July:

The Poppy War will be my second book of Tome Topple, and I need to read I am Thunder and State of Sorrow for YALC. I also want to finish The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet, because the third book in the trilogy is coming out this summer and I have a sneaking suspicion the author will be at YALC.

You might also have noticed that Convenience Store Woman has nudged its way into this list. It’s not a tome or a UKYA book, but it’s one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC, so I want to read asap.

What are you reading in July? Are you attending YALC or taking part in any readathons this summer?

Until next time

  1. I made a list of what I wanted to read for YALC and have touched none of it. I’ve failed so bad XD I really should make the effort with a few as like you said, it would be so much better to be able to tell them how much I liked it.

    1. Aww no! Honestly same though, I need to up my game in the next few weeks 😂 Which books are you hoping to try and read before YALC? For me it’s I Am Thunder, Radio Silence and I also need to finish Children of Blood and Bone still!

    1. Aww no! Well, at least we can do it together! What are you trying to read before YALC? I’m hoping to get to I Am Thunder, State of Sorrow, and perhaps Radio Silence. Ah, thanks for the heads up! I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s quite an intense read!

        1. Ahhh, I definitely need to try and get to it before YALC, but I just don’t know if I’m going to! IWBFT and Starfish are both really great, but I didn’t like the Smoke Thieves at all. I’d say prioritise the first two, but it’s totally your choice! 😉
