Book Hauls

February 2018 Book Haul (Small and manageable, for once?!)

Continuing with my new monthly book hauls, I’ve gathered together all the books I picked up in February. And there weren’t??? that??? many??? Believe me, I’m as surprised as you.

Of the books I picked up in February, the one I’m most excited to read is Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. With the UK release of Love, Simon next month, I’m keen to read the book first, and then go see the film in all it’s wonderful, LGBT glory. Everyone has been recommending Simon Vs. to me, so I’m thrilled to finally own it and be able to read it.

At the same time I picked up Simon Vs, I also bought Exit West and I Am Thunder, two books I’ve been desperate to read for several months. Both are own voices reads, but whereas Exit West has magical elements, I Am Thunder is firmly set in real-world London and explores bullying and identity.

I was also sent three books by publishers in February. Ink Road were kind enough to send me Starfish (one of my most anticipated releases for this year!) for review, and Bookollective sent me Made In Japan. I was also sent a copy of M. Jonathan Lee’sĀ Drift, Stumble, Fall by the lovely Hideaway Fall that’s not pictured here.

I’m pretty thrilled with my February haul, as all of these books have been pretty high up my TBR for a while. Hopefully that means I’ll get to them soon and won’t end up leaving them on my shelves for months and months.

Did you pick up any books in February or get sent any by publishers? Which book were you most excited about getting?

Until next time

  1. OOH, I loved Simon vs–hope you enjoy! I picked up Children of Blood and Bone and LOVED IT! Am waiting on a few exciting April 1st pre orders though šŸ™‚

    1. I just finished it and I was honestly grinning like an idiot at that ending. It was so perfect! The romance was adorable and I fell in love with the main characters a little bit. I can’t wait to read Leah On The Offbeat now! šŸ˜€

    1. Thanks Kristin! I haven’t read it yet, but I’m still eager to get to it soon šŸ™‚ I just finished Simon Vs today and oh. my. god. What a fantastic book. I absolutely adored the characters and the romance was just adorable. I think I need to go lie on the floor and hug the book to my chest for a while. ā¤

  2. Simon vs has been at the top of my most recommended list and I still need to get it. I’m quite proud of myself for sticking to my book buying ban, mind you I’m not exactly been reading much, sadly.

  3. I really enjoyed Simon Vs the Homo sapiens, though I saw the film first before reading the book which has made me love the film so much more. Such a great haul and I’m really intrigued by Starfish!

    1. Aww thank you Marie! I recently got a new phone, so my photos are much better quality now, which I’m so pleased with. My old phone camera was terrible. Simon Vs was AMAZING, I read it two days ago in about 36 hours and loved it. Hoping to post my review soon. And Starfish is really good, my review of that will be going up next weekend. šŸ™‚
