The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple
For today’s post I’ve picked a quote from the book that I’m just about to start reading, Alice Oseman’s I Was Born For This.
I pick up the iPad and look at it.
On screen is a picture of me and Rowan sleeping in my bed in our London apartment.
I laugh. It’s kind of funny. We look like we’re a couple or something. Lister must have taken it as a joke. I look up at Rowan, expecting him to be laughing too. But he isn’t. His eyes are wide. His hand is gripping the back of my seat.
‘I don’t understand,’ I say.
‘Have you checked Twitter today,’ he says, shaking his head almost mechanically.
‘No?’
Rowan snatches back the iPad and swipes the screen.
I was lucky enough to be approved for an ARC of this on Netgalley, so I’m really excited to be starting it. My wonderful pal Hollie @Hollieblog loves Alice Oseman and is constantly recommending her books, so it’s about time I finally read one of her novels.
What are you reading this weekend? Have you had any snow days with the recent bad weather to catch up on your reading?
This passage has me intrigued!
I’m only about 30 pages in because I only have an e-ARC on my laptop, but it’s pretty good so far. I’d recommend giving it a go if you like other Alice Oseman books. 🙂
Ooooh that snippet has really got me wondering about this book now. Great post! Going to search this book out and add it to my TBR 🙂
Ah! I can’t wait to read this book, I really loved Radio Silence by Alice Oseman. Luckily, there wasn’t much snow where I live, but it was very cold, so perfect reading weather. I am currently reading Everless!
It’s really cute and I’m enjoying it so far! I’m glad you didn’t get too snowed in, I worked from home for three days last week because my trains were cancelled. Hope you enjoying Everless and anything else you pick up this weekend 🙂
I love this feature! I also have this from Netgalley and can’t wait to start it now!
Aww thank you! It’s really fun to find a quote each week so I’m glad I started doing it. I hope we both enjoy it 🙂
Well, that is intriguing. I may have to add to my TBR. Here’s a link to my Friday 56: https://coffeeandcatsblog.wordpress.com/2019/01/25/friday-56-87/
