The Friday 56: Hero At The Fall

The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple

Today I’m starting Hero At The Fall by Alwyn Hamilton, which I picked up earlier in the week at her signing and in conversation event. This quote is one I found particularly intriguing.

I slammed the door open. Our princess had moved as close to the window as she could with her hands chained to the bed frame. Her head snapped up as I entered.
“What the hell was that?” Behind me I heard Fadi start to cry. I’d woken him up. I cast a glance over my shoulder. Sara gave me a reproachful look as she picked him up, bundling the baby out of the room.
“I could have told you taking me was a mistake,” Leyla gloated. She’d heard it too, every word.

I’m enjoying this a lot so far, and because it’s the final book in the trilogy I think it’s going to be explosive right through to the final page.

What are you reading this week? Have you completed any trilogies recently?

Until next time 2

          1. You may. I had tears in my eyes, basically for the last quarter of the book. But that was probably just me because I could sense the end and the anticipation. Oh and the twist 😰 oh the feels!
