Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I was determined to read last year AND THEN SOMEHOW DIDN’T

It’s that time of the week again, friends, and this is actually my first TTT of 2018. (The first week was technically last week, but I was having a small blogging break so I didn’t post for that one.)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by Jamie over at The Broke and The Bookish. The feature was created because Jamie is loves lists, and this weeks theme is:

January 9: Ten Books We Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To (and totallyyyy plan to get to in 2018!!)

This should be an easy one for me because there are way too many books that I didn’t manage to pick up last year. For the sake of brevity, I’ll choose the ten I’m most eager/anxious/excited to get to.

Some book on this list are novels I’ve been meaning to read since March last year, so I definitely need to pick them up quick. I have physical copies of Strange, An Ember in the Ashes, and The Beast’s Heart, so I have no excuse with those three and need to get to them ASAP.

Which books did you plan to read last year but then not quite pick them up? Are there any that have been on your TBR for more than a year that you’re desperate to get to?

Until next time 2

  1. I have a few of these books on my wishlist already but I hadn’t realised that Kristin Cashore had released another book. I really like her so I’m definitely interested in that one.
    Thanks
    Lynn 😀

    1. Yeah! It came out in November I think, and I have an ebook waiting for me, I just haven’t managed to start it yet! *cries* Apparently it’s a pretty great read, so I definitely want to get to it this year, and I adored Graceling, so I’d read anything new by Kristin Cashore to be honest! Do you think you’ll pick it up? 🙂

  2. There are some great books on your list! I really wanted to read Warcross and Flame in the Mist last year.. I also can’t wait to read Queens of Geek and I’ve heard some great things about Strange the Dreamer.

    1. Yeah, Flame in the Mist sounded really good, but I didn’t manage to pick that up either! A classic case of too many books and too little time. I hope you get to it this year, and I hope we both get to Queens of Geek, and Warcross! Do you think you’ll pick up Strange? 🙂

  3. Oh both Warcross and Strange the Dreamer are amazing books Kate. They were favourites of mine last year (actually Strange the Dreamer was one of my all-time favourite 2017 reads) so I really hope you love them as well. 🙂
Queens of Geek is one that should be on my list this week. I kept meaning to get around to it but for some reason just never picked it up. Oh well, maybe this year I’ll get around to it! 🙂
Great picks, and great post as well! 😀 ❤️

    1. Oooh you’re making me so eager to get to Strange now, but if I’m not careful, I’ll end up starting seven new books at once in excitement! Yeah, Queens of Geek sounds great (books set at conventions are right up my street) so I can’t wait to get to that too! Thanks for reading Beth 🙂

  4. Yes to Strange the Dreamer. I was on such a contemporary kick last year that I neglected most of the fantasy books I owned so I am eager to read them this year.
