Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by Jamie over at The Broke and The Bookish. The feature was created because Jamie is loves lists, and this weeks theme is:
November 7: Ten Characters Who Would Make Great Leaders (Leaders of what? That’s your decision. Who could lead a country, an army, a book club, a classroom, etc. Or maybe characters that would be trendsetters?)
For this theme, I’ve decided to do character I think would make great leaders of unlikely/unsung/entirely random revolutions.
1. Viv from Moxie
Viv pretty much does lead a feminist revolution in her school, bringing teenage girls together and empowering them to fight for their equality.
2. Imogen from Invictus
Imogen is too sweet and bubbly and I can definitely see her leading a colour revolution. She colours her hair a different colour every day with hair chalks and sometimes wears multiple contrasting colours at once. You’re my kind of girl, Imogen.
3. Charlotte from Retribution Rails
Similar to Viv, Charlotte would be poised to lead a feminist revolution. But I could also see her leading a media revolution to get more women into journalism and ensure published stories were fair and truthful.
4. Mollie from The Arsonist
Mollie is smart, fiery, and she could lead historical revolution, teaching people unknown and secret historical stories that have been lost over time. Preferably history about women being badass.
5. Dimple from When Dimple Met Rishi
I could definitely see Dimple leading women in STEM towards a coding revolution. She’s passionate and enthusiastic so I think she’d be good at invoking excitement in others for science and technology.
6. Nina Zenik from Six of Crows
Nina would lead one kind of revolution and one only. A waffle revolution. And I would 100% join.
7. Delila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic
Lila Bard could lead pretty much any kind of revolution she wanted, but I imagine her leading either a pirate revolution, with thousands of ships at her command on the seas, or a fashion revolution, making cloaks and masks the new trend.
8. Sabriel from The Abhorsen series
Sabriel is gentle, but fearless and a fighter so I could see her leading any kind of revolution. But for the purpose of this post, let’s say she leads a magical creature revolution, caring for misunderstood animals and
9. Xifeng from Forest of a Thousands Lanterns
She’s already leading something of a political revolution, but I could see Xifeng leading a revolution for villains. She’d help them unlock their inner darkness and unite to overthrow pesky heroes.
10. Baz from Carry On
Whoops he’s the only boy on this list (sorry, but not that sorry), but if Baz decided to embrace his vampire side, he could definitely lead a revolution among beings of darkness. I could definitely see him appearing in a cape and sweeping Simon off his feet.
And there we have it. Some thoroughly odd revolutions, but if you combine Nina, Lila, and Viv’s, you have a feminist, waffle-eating, mask-wearing revolution that I’m fully on board with.
Which characters do you think would make good revolutionaries? Are there any revolutions among this list you could get behind? Let me know, and as usual, link me to your Top Ten Tuesday posts!
Hell yes to the waffle revolution!
Yes! Nina can lead us all to waffle glory!
Totally agree with Viv! I think Lottie from the Spinster Club trilogy would make an awesome revolutionary, as would Daisy from the Murder Most Unladylike Mysteries.

Oh awesome, I’ve not read either of those, but if they have empowered women then I’m definitely interested! 🙂
Yes to Nina and her waffle revolution. I will be front line and center for this revolution and have an array of tasty toppings on hand for EVERY waffle.
Omg, I hadn’t even THOUGHT about toppings. You should definitely be her second in command, riding along in a chariot full of waffle toppings. This is how the Crooked Kingdom follow up begins.
YES! I will champion the lemon meringue waffle and literally shove it into the faces of all who dare oppose us!!
Ooh I’d never even thought about lemon meringue as a topping! So pretty much go hard or go home then? 😉
I had one in New Zealand and it was HEAVEN!! You’ve got to go all out on the toppings. I was tempted to get the eaton mess one haha.
