Happy Halloween everyone!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by Jamie over at The Broke and The Bookish. The feature was created because Jamie is loves lists, and this weeks theme is:
October 31: Halloween Freebie!
Jamie said we could go wild with this week’s freebie, so I’ve decided to go with bookish weapons and abilities that I’d use to fight off hoards of zombies, monsters, and ghouls.
1. Sabriel’s ressurectionist tools
If I’m going to be fighting ghouls and zombies, I may as well begin with Sabriel’s ressurectionist tools. With the power to go into the realm of death I’d never need to worry about fighting monsters again.
2. Kaz’s Cane
Kaz does some serious damage with that cane in Six of Crows, so it’d definitely be a good weapon against mosnters and ghouls, although I doubt I could wield it with as much finesse as him.
3. Asha’s axes
If these axes can be wielded against dragons, I’m pretty sure a few monsters are doing to stand no chance. I’d carry at least three upon my person, so if I missed on the first shot I wouldn’t have to go running after it before I could take another.
4. August’s violin
August uses his violin to harvest the souls of evil doers, so I think it would be the perfect weapon against demons and zombies – they’re pretty evil after all.
5. The bundt cake
Honestly, the bundt cake in Everything Everything seems pretty indestructible. I’d just throw it at my enemies and it would probably take a large number of them out.
6. Harry’s wand
I can think of few better weapons than a wand that can cast all manner of spells on monsters. I wouldn’t even break a sweat, I’d just petrificus totalus them all.
7. Fire’s bow
Fire’s bow and arrows would be perfect for long-distance slaying, though I don’t think I’d have quite so much skill and precision as her.
8. Aragorn’s sword
If you’re going to pick any sword to fight off a hoard of angry monsters, then Aragorn’s sword is a pretty safe bet. Bonus if Aragorn himself comes with the sword and can teach me how to wield it.
9. Meric’s wind abilities
With Meric’s powers, I could just stand on the spot and blast zombies back to where they came from whenever they got too close. Nice and simple.
10. Kell’s ability to travel through worlds
If worst came to worst and I couldn’t fight off the hoard of monsters, I’d use Kell’s abilities to lead them into Black London, trap them there, and return to Red London. Job done.
Which weapons or abilities would you choose if you had to fight off a hoard of Halloween monsters? Got any other suggestions for me aside from these ten? Let me know!

Can I just hire Kaz and crew to slay them for me? That would probably be my easiest solution haha. I love your take on this weeks topic. Aragorn’s sword would definitely be an asset, especially if I can still command the army of the dead. 😉

This is such a great post, very creative and unique! I would definitely use Aragorn’s sword to fight of Halloween monsters and Kell’s traveling ability would come in handy! 😁
