The Friday 56

The Friday 56: Zenith

The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!

Friday56

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple

Zenith

This week I’m reading Zenith so here’s a quote from that.

She took complete responsibility for those deaths. She’d never thought the debris would get through the atmosphere in such large pieces, let alone hit one of the few settlements on Pazus.
“You were never caught,” General Corstas said, his voice low, “but I knew it was you. That’s what you do, Androma.”

I’m two thirds of the way through and, honestly, I’m not enjoying this book. It’s poorly written and the plot is full of holes. The characters are pretty dull and the world seems to be made up of the successful parts of other books, but doesn’t feel original. Can’t say I’d recommend this one unfortunately.

What are you reading this weekend? What did you think of Zenith if you’ve picked it up? Let me know!

Until next time, Kate

  1. I honestly really like how honest you are. I read the part one of Zenith but that’s it. I read it a while ago, so my memory isn’t fresh. I really want to read the book to see if I like it as much as I liked part one.

    1. Aww thank you, I always think it’s better to be honest about a book (even if that honesty seems a little harsh) than to say you liked a book when you didn’t. I’d never want to recommend a book that I didn’t enjoy and then have other people not enjoy it too, especially when they could have spent that time reading a book they liked! I’m still reading Zenith, but I’m not enjoying it at all unfortunately. If you liked part one a lot you might like the rest of it though!
