TBRs and Wrap ups

October 2017 TBR (Or the spooky month where I’m reading absolutely zero spooky books, oops)

October 2017 TBR

It’s finally October, and everyone’s getting excited about Halloween and planning their spooky reads…except me. Unpopular opinion alert: I’m not fussed about Halloween. Don’t get me wrong, I love carving pumpkins and greeting trick or treaters, but I don’t usually dress up (I prefer to be cosy in pjs or a jumper) and I don’t theme my October reads around Halloween.

So this month my TBR will (unashamedly) consist of no spooky books, just a handful I’m really excited to read.

What do you guys plan on reading this month? Are there any new releases you’re excited for? Have you read any of these books? Let me know!

Until next time, Kate

  1. Glad to hear I’m not the only one that doesn’t buy into the Halloween hype. To me, it’s just the filler holiday before Christmas haha. I never have a set tbr, but I have been on a sports contemporary kick lately so I’m pretty sure I’ll be reading those types of books this month.

    1. Yeah, I love cosplay, and I like how excited everyone gets over Halloween, but I like them independent of each other. I enjoy seeing everyone excited for 31st, but I’m just really not fussed about dressing up for it, and I’m definitely not bothered about choosing Halloween-themed books for the month, I’d rather pick up some of the fantasy and YA novels that have been on my TBR for ages 😉 Ooh exciting, what kinds of sports books?

  2. Oooh, I’ve read 3 on your list! TBDATE was definitely my favourite (and the first of Adam’s books that I’ve read)! I hope it slays you like it did me. 😀 ❤
Gentleman's Guide was a lot of fun & The Last Namsara was such an awesome setting. I hope you enjoy all of these, be interested to see what you think of Forest & Enchantment of Ravens! Happy reading!

    1. Oooh exciting! I’m really enjoying TBDATE so far, and I’ve JUST finished The Last Namsara today. Loved it. It was one of the best high fantasy novels I’ve read in a while! I’m still really excited about The Gentleman’s Guide, but I just keep not getting round to it each month and then deferring it to the next month?! I’m really keen to *actually* pick it up this month though! Thanks Bec, hope it’s a good month for you too!

      1. Haha I hope you manage to get to it! I know what deferring a book because of time feels like. 😛 Happy reading, and thank you!!
