The Friday 56

Friday 56: Daughter of the Burning City

Hey guys, happy Friday!

The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!

Friday56

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple

This week I’ve been reading one of the early releases I picked up at YALC – Daughter of the Burning City.

‘But do we really need to bury him tonight?  That’s… that isn’t enough-‘ I’m crying. Villiam hugs me and shushes me but still allows me to finish. I feel a hundred things at once. Grateful for the comfort. Embarrassed that I’m keeping him here when thousands of people are depending upon him. Angry at Frice. Angrier at the killer. Lost. Confused. Horrified.

I’ve almost finished this book now, and the climax is really something. I’m keen to see what happens in the final chapters, and I’m sure I won’t be disappointed!

What will you be reading this weekend? Have you read Daughter of the Burning City? If so, what did you think?

Until next time, Kate
