Hey guys, it’s Friday!
The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple
This week I chose a quote from a book I’ve just finished, We Were Liars.
Giveaway: Gat’s olive hunting jacket. The one I wore that night we held hands and looked at the stars and talked about God. I never returned it.
I should have given it away first of everything. I know that. But I couldn’t make myself. It was all I had left of him.
But that was weak and foolish. Gat doesn’t love me.
I just finished this book two days ago, and it was a short, punchy mystery about privilege and wealth. I wasn’t completely blown away by it, but the twist at the end was deceptively effective in its simplicity.
What are you reading this week? Have you read We Were Liars or is it on your TBR? Let me know!
