TBRs and Wrap ups

June TBR (Or the month Our Dark Duet finally comes out and my birthday arrives)

June TBR

Hey guys,

I’m excited that we’re into June, as it’s my birthday on 9th! My grandma and auntie took me book shopping for presents the other day, so I already know that I have six wonderful books waiting for me to open! (American Gods, Days of Blood and Starlight, The Rook, The Upside of Unrequited, Let Them Eat Chaos, and The Princess Saves Herself in This One.)

I also had something incredibly exciting happen yesterday. I found an early-release copy of Our Dark Duet and MY PARENTS BOUGHT IT FOR ME AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT! With a little bribery they’ve let me have it before my birthday and I STARTED READING IT TODAY. I can’t quite believe it. It’s my most anticipated book of the year so I’m honestly thrilled.

So needless to say, Our Dark Duet is on my TBR for this month along with these gems:

This is quite an ambitious TBR for this month, but I’ve already started Eating Animals and Plum, and I finished Carry On yesterday. I’m really excited for all my birthday books and I’ll probably do a haul later this month showing what I got!

What are you reading this month? Have you read any of the novels on this list? Have you pre-ordered any books that are releasing this month? Let me know!

Until next time, Kate

  1. Both The Princess Saves Herself In This One and The Upside Of Unrequited are awesome books!! I hope you enjoy them!

I just had my birthday on the 1st and it was a blast! Happy early birthday! ❤

  2. Going book shopping is seriously the best, I’m glad you found some great books. 🙂 I seriously need to read This Savage Song, though I should probably finish the Shades of Magic series first! 😂 Good luck with your TBR!

      1. I’m glad to hear that you are loving it! I have only read the first book, though I plan on reading the second one this month. (Hopefully as soon as possible!)

  3. Oh, you also added ACOL to your list! I hope you enjoy both of Schwab’s books, though I know you’re already loving ODD 🙂

I always forget I have to read Carry On too. To be honest, I’m a bit hesitant because even though I liked Fangirl, I didn’t love those parts. Unpopular opininon, I know. I hope I’m wrong and end up having a great time! I’ll be looking at your thoughts once you post them 😉

And yay for so many great presents! It’s a great excuse to buy books and have people buy them for you when your birthday is cominp up. Happy birthday in advance!

    1. Yes! I’ve been meaning to read ACOL since February when it came out, I’m the worst! I’m definitely going to read it this month though as I want to get it signed at YALC next month! I think I actually preferred Carry On to Fangirl to be honest! Because the whole story is about Simon, not just parts, it’s much more exciting and fun. (It’s SO FUNNY too!) My review for it should be going up on Tuesday, but I can tell you in advance that it’s a very positive review. 😉 Thanks Anna, I’m looking forward to it!

  4. Ahhh I am SO jealous that you have Our Dark Duet already! I could go into town and pick up an early copy but I pre-ordered so I guess I’ll wait it out! I hope I won’t see any spoilers anywhere before release date! You also have some other great books on your TBR including ACOL! Enjoy and have a lovely birthday! (Ps. June birthdays are by far the best 😉 )

    1. I can’t explain how lucky I feel! I’ve been blessed by the Schwab gods. You’ll definitely not see any spoilers from me on here or twitter/goodreads! Spoilers are even worse when you’ve been really anticipating a book. Thanks lovely, I’m looking forward to it! And you’re right – June birthdays are 100% the best. 😉
