Hey everyone, happy Friday!
The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. The idea is to share an excerpt from a book you’ve been reading every Friday, to promote the book or simply just to showcase your current read!
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s OK.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple
This week, the quote I’ve chosen is from The Hate U Give:
“Frankly, Carlos, we don’t want anyone to know Starr was there,” Momma says. “She’s scared. I am too. Who knows what’s going to happen?”
“I get that, but I assure you she’ll be protected. If you don’t trust the system, can you at least trust me?”
“I don’t know,” says Daddy. “Can we?”
“You know what, Maverick? I’ve just about had it with you-”
“You can get out of my house then.”
I’ve just started reading THUG today, and so far, so amazing. I don’t want to put it down.
Have you read The Hate U Give? If so what did you think? Let’s discuss in the comments!
Ohhh this book is just lovely!! So many endless praises for this one. 😍❤ I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
Yeah, the writing is great – Angie Thomas really knows how to create tension! Thanks my lovely!
Yay! Glad to hear you’re reading this one. I read it this month as well and absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to hear you thoughts! 🙂
I bought it as an Easter present to myself and I’m only just getting to it now because I have so many other books to read!
Ooooh very good pick for an Easter present. I totally feel ya on the never ending TBR!
Haha thanks, and yes, it just goes on and on. I’m not helping myself by repeatedly getting library books out either!
