I’m uploading this a few days late because I’m on holiday in France at the moment, and have been spending some time away from my laptop, enjoying the sun. It’s lovely to have a break from being on a laptop or computer, because I do often feel I spend too much time at one or the other, but I did feel that I was neglecting my blog slightly. So I thought I’d write this and upload it before going to enjoy a nice leisurely breakfast in the garden.
One of the perks of being on holiday is that I suddenly have so much more reading time, and have been racing through books. As a result, I figured I should set myself a reasonably ambitious TBR for August.
These are the books I’m hoping to read:
(All images courtesy of Goodreads).
I know this seems like an unwieldy TBR, but I’ve actually already finished This Savage Song (review to come, but hint: I loved it) and am about half way through Siege and Storm, so I think I should be able to get through most of these if I keep going at my current pace. Praise, bless to family holidays for giving me so much reading time.
I’m also reading a lot more fantasy this month because I read mostly contemporary last month and I missed fantasy books. I’m not even kidding, fantasy gives me life.
Let me know what you guys are reading this month and definitely tell me what you thought of any of these books if you’ve already read them!
I highly recommend A Darker Shade of Magic and The Night Circus! ADSOM is just all kinds of badass and has a really great set of characters, as well as a cool magic system. (Plus, EVIL TWINS.)
And The Night Circus is magical as well, but in a more enchanting way. It’s slower, but definitely worth savouring. I wish I could visit the Night Circus myself. ♥
Happy reading!
Oh, my bad, I read ADSOM instead of A Gathering of Shadows :’D you’ll love that one too, haha!
Haha thanks, I read both your comments but thought I’d reply to this one since it’s the most recent. I’m very excited to read A Gathering of Shadows, I LOVED the first book so much that I had to give it 5 stars. And yes! Everyone says the Night Circus is such a fantastic novel so I can’t wait to get started with it. My sister’s been bugging me to read it for about a year, so I’m thankful that I’ll finally get to start it while I’m on holiday. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my blog 🙂
The ones I’ve read from this list I loved, and the ones I haven’t read are on my TBR so I’ll keep an eye out for your thoughts on them! Hope you enjoy your holiday 😀
Ah awesome, which was your favourite? And thanks, it’s been lovely so far – getting so much reading time in!
Ohh my favourite would have to be The Night Circus – it’s been a favourite of mine for years and I reread it just before Christmas ❤ Glad to hear you're enjoying your holiday!
I’m planning on reading Carry On too!

Ah, excellent! Have you read any of Rainbow Rowell’s other books? This will be the first one I’ve read! 🙂
